Traditional stone craftsmanship
in Kameoka, Kyoto

Based in the Hoki area of Kameoka, Kyoto, we craft traditional stoneworks such as stone lanterns, torii gates, and garden elements while preserving techniques handed down through generations. We continue the local stonemason legacy rooted in the region’s long history of stone culture.

History

In the Kameoka Basin, once a vast lake, layers of ancient geology and human aesthetic sensibility came together to nurture a distinctive stone culture. Hoki granite, whetstones, and garden stones—materials and crafts that quietly supported the beauty of the capital. Their history is deeply intertwined with the work of Saita Stone.
